Universal ID Badges
Conniston MS, SDPBC & the FL Department of Education require universal ID badges.
This is in an effort to do everything possible to keep our students & staff safe. Technology permitting, students will be scanned onto buses as well as into campus each morning.
Students will need ID badges for the media center, the cafeteria, and certain school activities. This is a districtwide effort to increase safety across school campuses.
Device & Backpack Policy
Mesh or Clear Backpacks - Students must use a clear or mesh backpack.
Electronic Devices - Florida’s House Bill 1105 prohibits the use of electronic devices on elementary and middle school campuses during the school day.
- To adhere to this policy, and support the safety and learning of our students while on Conniston’s campus, Blue Marlin students will not be permitted to use their cell phones, headsets or headphones, AirPods or earbuds, as well as Apple watches, while on campus. All of these items may only be stored in backpacks if on campus, and must be powered off.
- This includes when students enter campus until dismissal announcements are made.
- Should a student need to reach a parent or family member during the day, they should report to their grade level office where they may use a school phone.
- Students who cannot abide by this state law will have the device confiscated. Students may pick up the device at the conclusion of the school day following the first two infractions. Should this occur repeatedly, the student’s parent will have to pick up the device after two infractions.
- Any family of a Conniston Middle School student in need of a medical exception for students with medical devices connected to a cell phone should contact administration at 561-802-5405.
- Parents, please assist us in adhering to House Bill 1105 and ensuring safety and academic focus during the school day while Blue Marlin students are on campus.
